These lines suggest that:

• the collocation of affected and botrytis is quite normal;
• synonyms of botrytis are used as well: e.g. rot or noble rot.

Having found that affected by is often accompanied by (noble) rot and botrytis in these texts, we can now turn to our Italian comparable corpus, assuming that, since the texts belong to the same genre and field, and describe the same processes, these central collocations will be stable across languages.
